The latest generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan is one of three finalists in this year’s “World Car of the Year” awards.
With more than 300,000 ordered since the new model debuted in Europe last year, the new generation of the Tiguan has been a critical and sales success.
An integral part of the brand’s SUV offensive, the Tiguan is slated to debut in America later this year. About 11 inches longer than European Tiguan, the North American model will go to Europe as the Tiguan Allspace in mid-May.
The Tiguan is up against the Jaguar F-Pace and its stablemate the Audi Q5. The winner of the award will be announced on Thursday, April 13 at the New York International Auto Show.
