Volkswagen announced on Monday that it would be debuting the updated Golf this week at the New York International Auto Show, and here it is.
Admittedly not much of a departure from the current Golf, the 2018 version massages the Golf’s body lines to make a new, handsome version.
With its more vertical tailgate, the 2018 Golf somehow looks more like it’s coiling up, readying to pounce. The Grille, meanwhile, follows into the headlights, giving the front end more flowing lines.
Small changes all, but all good ones nonetheless.
Under the hood, meanwhile, all GTIs will produce 220 hp (not just the Performance), while most other Golfs will make the same amount of power.
It’s inside, where VW’s new, handsome infotainment screen makes a big, welcome change. Not only is the new system good, the new screen looks better, giving the interior a more contemporary appearance.
