Volkswagen’s new watchdog is set to be announced and, according to Reuter, it will be lawyer Larry Thompson.
Thompson is a lawyer at Finch McCranie LLP and served as US deputy attorney general from 2001 to 2003.
Volkswagen agreed to have an independent monitor watch over its post-dieselgate business as part of its plea agreement. The monitor will watch over VW operations for three years.
The monitor will be there to ensure that VW makes appropriate reforms in its culture so that another so that cheating on emissions results, or indeed any kind of cheating, does not happen again.
