The Paris Motor Show is just around the corner and Volkswagen’s getting all revved up. Actually, that’s a poor choice of words. It’s getting electrified(?) about a new design study it’ll be revealing at the show called Think New.
This is a one-of-kind concept car that the company is hoping will signal the turning over of a new leaf, heralding a new era of electric VWs, according to the automaker that wants EVs to account for a quarter of its sales by 2025.
“The vehicle is as revolutionary as the Beetle was seven decades ago,” writes VW in a press release. “The production vehicle which follows will be the first Volkswagen to hit the market based on the new modular electrification kit (MEB).”
Although the pictures look like they were taken by JJ Abrams, they do reveal a bit, including a new headlight design and a shot of the rear, which is a hatch. The proportions also make it look smaller than the Budd-e concept from CES last year.
