An internal investigation into the emissions scandal has yet to find any reason to dismiss Audi CEO and Volkswagen Group board member Rupert Stadler.
That’s according to a report from Automotive News, going off information from three unnamed sources.
There were questions about the CEO’s job security following an article from German newspaper Der Spiegel reporting on allegations that Stadler had known about emissions manipulation since 2010.
“So far nothing has been relayed to the company that would suggest to dismiss Mr Stadler,” one source told Automotive News.
Stadler has been Audi’s CEO since 2007 and a member of the Volkswagen board since 2010.
