Skoda is bringing a hotter Octavia to the Geneva Motor Show. The Octavia RS is getting a Challenge Plus package to make a sportier version of the RS 245.
The Octavia is Skoda’s compact sedan and wagon, sharing the VW MQB platform with the Mk 7 Golf and third-generation Audi A3. The Octavia RS uses a 2.0L TSI engine that makes 226 hp, linked to a six-speed DSG dual-clutch box.
The new Challenge Plus package adds new styling tweaks and new equipment inside and out. The Challenge Plus package will be an addition to the RS 245 spec Octavia. That car gets a boost to 245 hp and uses a seven-speed transmission with a limited-slip differential. Skoda hasn’t said if the Challenge Plus will make more power, but expect it to have sportier looks and sportier handling.
Skoda’s new digital instrument panel, similar to the VW digital cluster, is also coming to the Octavia.
The new Octavia RS Challenge Plus will be on display in Geneva at the start of next month.
